Guest guest
Anyway, I'm back and feeling good. I have a question for you all. Does >anyone know if chestnuts contain anti-nutrients or phytates? I'm just >curious because both my baby girl and I love Chestnut pancakes (made >with Chestnut flour). In fact, I'm going to make her a stack of them >for her birthday and decorate them with whipped cream (like a >mini-birthday cake for her). > >Ciao, > >Dawn dawn - i had to snip out the hospital story cause it's just too depressing!!!! i'm glad you're feeling better now! with pancakes, it's so easy to sour the batter that you can just assume that they do, just in case, and sour the batter anyway. just mix the flour and milk ahead of time, add a spoonful of whey if you have it (or don't) and in the morning put in the eggs and make the pancakes. if it got too thick, add some more milk. since both beans and nuts have phylates, and a chestnut is similar to both (very scientific here!) i'd say it's totally safe to assume they do. -katja
Guest guest
Sorry to hear about your food poisoning! Not easy to be that sick and be a mother to a baby. I ended up in the hospital with both my births and was truly astounded at the poor food. The first time they tried to starve me to death too.
