Guest guest
((((((((((((BIGHUGS)))))))))))))))) . We'll all be thinking of you and waiting with you. Let's keep positive thoughts and believe that this thing is benign and treatable very soon. Much love anne The waiting may be the worst . . . No, I guess the answer could be worst of all. I did talk to a nurse again yesterday as we were finalizing this weeks appts. She wanted to make sure I stuck around after the MRI so the doctor could read it himself and then (her words) "if it is something horrible, you will know right away." Fair enough, I think I'd like to know asap whether this is a harmless benign hemangioma, or something more serious.I have incredibly uncomfortable pain in my right abdomen, sometimes it's very, very painful but it has not let up for about a month now. The only relief I can get is with pain meds. I also have been battling a recurrent swelling in my throat, sore throat and stomach problems, and some more issues with the plumbing from the stomach on down. From what I have read over the last day or two it would be a good explanation if I have a large hemangioma that is causing pressure on my duodenum, stomach or other areas-that would explain all these symptoms anyway. I understand that if a hemangioma is large enough and causing a problem a surgeon can resect it and thus relieve the symptoms. I could live with that.As far as the "horrible" possibilities . . . I guess it is weighing heavy on my mind but I'm trying to be positive. I have six kids between 14 and 20 and I would feel so guilty and horrible if I found out I wasn't going to be around for them. I'll let you all know . . . after Wednesday.
Guest guest
Hi The duodenum is the part just below your food stomach,, its the very first part of your bowel.. usually ppl get ulcers there if they have too much acid or too much stress,, I HAVE both,, lol and yes the hemangiomas can cause pain.. I have another friend who has hemangiomas in her liver,, they removed 2 I think but one of them is in a spot that they cannot remove them.. she does have a lot of pain too,, your colon is the LAST part of your bowel,, the colon is the last part on the way to the rectum and out.. I know that Hep C has been trying for you, its been that way for all of us,, and the tough part is that we dont have a real cure,, only remission,, and everyone thinks that hep is a asymptomatic disease and WE ALL know THAT IS NOT right!!! Im glad you are here and let us know if there is anything we can do,, and YES,, when God brings you to something, he WILL bring you through it.... hugs jaxBnhoffer2@... wrote: Jackie, This is a totally "too lazy to go figure it out myself" question . where exactly is the duodenum? Is it the upper region of the colon? I found several references to hemangiomas creating pressure and problems with the duodenum. I have been taking tramadol (ultram) for about two or three years-around 100mg a day; when I have joint pain and lately with the abdominal pain I've used 5 - 10 mg of oxycodone. In the last week or two I've had to bump that to 15 mgs and that even twice a day sometimes. I like your saying too "God won't bring you to it unless he brings you through it." I have to admit that this HepC experience has been THE most trying three years in my life . . . and that's saying something as I had a very abusive childhood and first marriage. Thanks to everyone for their advise, thoughts and concern. I don't have any family-just a few in-laws, and two good, good friends, so I can't say there are a whole lot of folks thinking about my situation at any given time. Re: The waiting may be the worst . . . PLEASE KNOW that WE are keeping you in our prayers and for sure I KNOW that God wont bring you to it unless he brings you through it... IF you are taking pain meds,, you could be developing an ulcer like I did,,, AND the swelling in your throat might be from the pain meds as well, you might be allergic to it.. please be careful and make sure you are not taking anything WITH ASPIRIN as it can cause bleeding,, and IF this is something that can be fixed surgically, you wont want to be taking aspirin anyway.. have you had a barium swallow? I did that and that is how they found the duodenum ulcer..it tastes yukky but the test is not so bad,, they just rotate you all around on a table and take a look and pic's... Yes, Please let us know, and do not worry! hugs jax wrote: No, I guess the answer could be worst of all. I did talk to a nurse again yesterday as we were finalizing this weeks appts.
