Guest guest
Hi Cheryl in Seattle, My *plans* for exercise are to play the Arthritis Pace 1 tape and exercise along with it every day. What I *like* to do, for exercise is this..remote in one hand..candy bar in the other. Up and down..across and over... Seriously, I am sorry your exercise plans have not turned out as you wished. Guest guest
Cheryl: Sue here. Hi! I am enrolled in a lifetime Fitness course at my community college. Both the coach from it and my local YMCA have told me to only work out every-other day so your muscles have a chance to contract back. This keeps them from overworking themselves and I think it's great advice for us Arthritisians. Anyway, just my 2cents worth! Love to ya. --Sue
Guest guest
Cheryl~~ I'm sorry to hear that you are in such pain. I'm lucky because although I am in some pain, it's not so severe and I walk about 1- 2 miles almost everyday. I've been doing this for a long time and I think it really helps keep my stress, illnesses and depression under some control. I have an inner need to walk! 11 or so years ago when I was very sick with the stills and just released from the hospital as soon as I could I went outside and through some super human effort I limped a few steps up the sidewalk, and a few steps back. lol!!! I just couldn't stop myself from taking at least a teeny, tiny walk. I also do a bit of yoga and some light weight lifting. I believe that yoga is helpful, but I think that you might want to look around for a certified yoga instructor who is experienced working with people who have chronic illnesses. Tapes are ok, but they can't take the place of a teacher who knows your problems and is willing to work on them with you. Are there such people around?? I don't know. Hope you are feeling better!!! Keep moving.....julia Cheryl wrote: I'm curious about other people's exercise plans.
