Guest guest
The doctor gave me Effexor XR for depression so... I looked on www.effexorxr.com for the side effects and look... Possible Side Effects of EFFEXOR XR EFFEXOR XR may cause side effects in some people. In clinical studies, few people had to stop taking EFFEXOR XR because of side effects. In clinical studies, the most common side effects included: a.. Nausea b.. Dizziness c.. Sleepiness d.. Abnormal ejaculation e.. Sweating f.. Dry mouth g.. Gas h.. Abnormal vision a.. Nervousness b.. Insomnia c.. Anorexia d.. Constipation e.. Confusion/agitation f.. Tremor g.. Yawning h.. Palpitation Tell your doctor right away if you have a.. increases in heart rate. b.. extreme confusion or seizures, which may indicate very low levels of sodium in the blood. c.. abnormal bleeding or bruising. d.. sudden, unexpected eye pain, eye redness, or changes in vision, which may indicate increased eye pressure. e.. symptoms of mania or hypomania, such as persistently elevated or irritable mood, a decreased need for sleep, racing thoughts, hyperactivity, and rapid, excessive speech. EFFEXOR XR may cause an increase in your cholesterol. Your doctor may want to do blood tests to check your serum cholesterol periodically. I told my mom that I wasn't going to take them just because of the side effects... too scary for me... I am glad she told me to look up the side effects on the site because I would have taken them. I would rather have depression then go into a seizure, or anorexia or something else that could really hurt me. I can deal with the depression. But I cannot deal with having to go to the hospital becuase of a pill a doctor gave me... Re: ine When I think of that time recently with all those pills I am just so thankful I am where I am at. I will never try another additional pill. I am done. psy's scarey! ine

Guest guest
yeah... I am glad I didn't take the ones the doctor gave me. I mean, I am a medical transcriptionist so I hear all the time what people feel like on these meds so I knew better than to take them myself and to just stick it out because you always have to climb that mountain first. I am climbing mine right now. I think whatever I do, I am going to try hard not to get meds if I go to the doctor. The only meds I think I am going to take is birth control... for obvious reasons. LOL Re: ine That's what started my whole nightmare with my meds. ine

Guest guest
oh I know that... but ... you kind of need to have " someone " for that... I am single so I don't do that LOL, but it is always a good thing just in case. Guest guest
yeah I hear ya on this... except my family... my mom runs them LOL no matter if we are going there for her, me or someone else... she will tell them what she wants done. Good ol mom! Re: ine We let the doctors run us. I have become a real meany in my clinic. Have changed psy 3 times. Guest guest
, I have been trying to get her to go to the doctor... but she won't ... I think even if she were to get to the hospital... she would register and leave because " they took to long " LOL so yeah, I have been trying... at the same time, I try to keep her calm and relaxed... I sometimes think I relax her too much though because she starts to get tired and she falls asleep. Sometimes, she just needs someone to figure something out for her and when I don't know what to say I just don't say anything. I am going to work on that amongst other things. I love my mom to death and she is my best friend, my mom and she is the closest thing I have to a dad. I would bend over backwards for her (sometimes it doesn't seem like that, but I would) and I don't want to see her hurting like she is anymore. My mom is also the type of person who can " handle " a lot of pain, so sometimes, you wouldn't even know she was hurting because she hides it so well... until she tells you, and then when she tells you, she is the type of person who won't make it seem like she is hurting so much. So sometimes it is hard to diagnose how much pain she is feeling. LOL She is a trooper and I love her so much. Summer Re: ine Summer, Good thing you've got your mom on your side!! Moms are real good about not letting their babies get pushed around by doctors or anyone!! A mom and her child is like a momma bear and her cub - lovely to look at but don't you dare get between them...LOL You're truly blessed, Summer, to have your mom. A Mom can be your best friend - and when you have one that has been through it all and survived (and has kept her sanity), well....you couldn't ask for more. Be good to your mom and make her relax some. Be her main source of strength and I promise you'll never regret it. Hugs to you Summer (and good ol Mom)! Guest guest
ine, Sorry, I would have been in on this but I finally slept!! Girl, I know exactly how you feel, when I was 21 yrs old my most favorite person in the world, shot himself while I was talking to him on the phone. He was my cousin. He, too, wouldn't have made it much longer, it was inevitable what was going to happen, he was weak and sad all the time. Sometimes we just can't help even though we try, the person is so unhappy that it goes beyond the realm of counseling and treatment I think. I remember this horrible event every year, however, I now look at it with more of a different aspect, as he was miserable then, so miserable and at least now he is happy. He never would have made it in this rough world. Sometimes, and I hate to say this, but it is just better for them, this way. I hope today is a better day for you. Big smiles, you are here and life is going so well for you right now. Everything is finally happening for you, don't look back girl your not going that way!!!! HUGS!! Nola -- Re: anniversary ine, so sorry to hear what your brother went through in his life. Not easy for any of you. Anniversaries are tough. I lost a friend unexpectedly last year who would have been 49 today. We always called each other on each others birthdays for the past 14 years although I no longer live in Houston where we met. It felt so odd to not call him today! Makes me sad but our loved ones do live on in our hearts still! Take care of yourself, LeAnn

Guest guest
Thanks, I read the affirmations and will continue to read them. As I read the affirmations I said to myself-that's right. I have alot to give to someone. Years ago when I was much sicker I was involved with 3 or 4 men who really loved me and saw that in me. Unfortunately I was too sick to stay in the relationship. But I need to look at the good pieces in me. Everyone I meet likes me and thinks I am a giving, loving and kind person. I need to focus on that. Thanks, ine
