Tamson,

I would suggest going to the manufacturer website for the video

card. Download and install the the very newest drivers for your card.

A while back I added a new video card and some functions on InnerTube

stopped working. It turned out that the driver shipped with the

video card was several generations old.

--Thanks for responding. I downloaded the latest driver for

this video card, which is a Radeon X1650. The latest driver came out

on Dec 20, 2007, so it's really new. Sadly, that didn't do it. Still

getting the same error message. Any other ideas?

Thanks again for getting back to me.

No other ideas right off the bat. I will think about it,

Actually there may be on other thing to look at.

Somewhere in the video preferences panel is the option for changing

the level of hardware acceleration, The instruction that are under

the slider says to change the settings if you have display problems.

You might try adjusting that.

I just located my old copy of the BE bright folder.

It has several versions of the program. Did you try all 3?

I had a brightness issue with the DVD player in bioexplorer on my new

laptop, although I didn't get any error messages.

Rah was nice enough to give me the following suggestion.

Open Power DVD, right click mouse, choose configuration, choose video

tab, check the box under Hardware acceleration to enable it. OR for

Windows Media Player open it, choose Tools, choose Options, choose

Performance tab and move the tab under Video accelerator all the way

to the right. Choose Advanced, under DVD check the box to say Use video

mixing renderer.

If that doesn't work it may be your DVD decoder.

When you open up the DVD player is the VMR off? (in red text at the

bottom of the DVD window) If so and there is a DVD decoder selected in

the preferences menu, you may need a different DVD decoder. There may be

an easier way but I went to cyberevolution's website and purchase one of

their choices. I downloaded one online for $20 & it worked. After

installing the software choose the new DVD decoder from bioexplorer's

preferences window.

Here's bioexplorer's website listing 3 of their recommendations for

DVD decoders.

http://www.cyberevolution.com/DVD.htm

Good luck,

Jack
