I have a laptop with VISTA.

I followed your instructions. I got Power DVD8.0. I downloaded and

installed “Nimo50Build9Beta1”.

(I did get an error message when installing Nimo: Error

opening file for writing, C:\windows\system32\DiVXa32.acm. Hit

Abort, Retry, ignore. I hit ignore.)

The DVD player now plays DVDs, and I have sound! However, the DVD

player does not respond to feedback when the “Control” button is

activated.

What am I missing? Do I have to tweak anything to make it work?

Regards

Hello Ann,

I use Power DVD 8.0. Was not able to run DVD either in Win

XP or Vista.

The solution was to add the free download version of Nimo

Codec Pack,

that have most of all codex you need to make work you

Win DVD or Any other DVD in

Windows. You just have to download and install. Then Dvd in

BioExplorer will run perfectly.

Search for this in Google with this words: " Nimo50Build9Beta1 " .

Is the only way I can make DVD work with WinXp or

Vista.

Good Luck

Angelo,

Try to uninstall BioExplorer and Re install it. The last

version on the BioExplorer Website.

In Preferences be sure you choose the most updated Power DVD

listed in the options. At least I have 3 options to choose in the DVD choices

and some more in the Audio decoders.

Power Dvd8 and Nimo Codec Pack was all I needed to make it

work in 3 Computers

2 With Win xp Service Pack II and a new one Laptop with

Vista.

This next idea is very naive, but just try using another

DVD. May be is somehow corrupted. Just in case.

Best Regards
