TLC will be offering 3 online workshops for January/February 2008. These are limited in size, to maintain the quality of voice communication and visual sharing. In order to participate, you should have a fast (DSL or better) internet connection. Participating in each workshop will entail going to a pre-arranged web link/URL, which will allow us all to see and share the same screen, and calling a US phone number so you can hear and be heard. International participants have been successful using Skype Out or some other VOIP service to make this call for a low cost. For workshop descriptions ( http://www.brain-trainer.com/workshops/online_workshops.html ).

Participants will receive a PowerPoint slide set for the workshop prior to its beginning and will receive a recording of the workshop a day or two following its completion.

The first workshop will be the Trainers' Practicum. This workshop will run 6 consecutive Saturdays, starting January 12 and continuing January 19 and 26, then February 2, 9 and 16. They will be held from 11am to 1pm eastern US time ( e.g. New York). Each participant will have the right to submit an assessment to be reviewed by the group. The first session will cover artifacting and " skimming " the TLC Assessment's Reports, Histograms, Maps and Variance pages to identify an " organizing principle " for the brain. Each of the remaining 5 sessions will involve the entire group discussing and developing a training plan for 2 of the assessments (one in each hour). Participants should have completed Level 2 training and have an understanding of the TLC assessment activation categories, since these will not be covered in detail again. Participants should also be comfortable with gathering and processing the data into the TLC assessment. The main goal of this workshop is to provide supervised practice for participants to become more comfortable with the training planning purpose and to increase their speed in developing plans. Cost for the 12 hours of training is $450.

The second workshop will be Getting the Most from BioExplorer. This workshop will run 4 consecutive Saturdays, starting January 12 and continuing January 19, 26 and February 2. They will be held from 1:30pm to 4:30pm eastern US time ( e.g. New York). Ideally participants should already own and have installed BioExplorer on their computers, since this will be a hands-on practicum workshop covering basic and advanced functions of the software. The main goal of this workshop is to provide supervised practice for participants to become more comfortable with developing and adapting protocols in BE, reviewing and outputting sessions from BioReview, getting proficient with using DVD, music, video and other types of feedback, various training challenges available in the program and adjusting the various data views. Cost for the 8 hours of training is $325.

The third workshop will be BrainPrime. This workshop will run 2 consecutive Saturdays, February 9 and February 16, from 11am to 1pm eastern US time (e.g. New York). It deals with issues of aging and the brain, the research findings in these areas--both classic and more recent--covering brain function related to pathology and to normal function. Also presents a program called BrainPrime, which is designed to work with normal aging issues. Cost for the 4 hours of training is $175.

You can sign up for these on the www.brain-trainer.com website under Workshops (online workshops).
