Brightness Adapter not working on new computer

Hi Everyone--

I've also posted this on the BioEx listserve, but I'm putting a

message up here as well in the hopes that someone has had a similar

experience--and success in fixing the issue!

I just got a new computer, built by a local computer company. We are

running Windows XP on it, and it seems to be doing fine with BioEx.

Got that loaded just fine.

I can't get the brightness adapter (the one userjon created) to work

at all.

Yesterday, I was working from adapter files that I transfered from my

laptop--which work just great on my laptop--and I was getting an

error: It was popping up a box that stated that " client

initialization failed: 80004005 " .

I deleted these files and just downloaded the zip off the listserve,

unzipped it and tried to use the adapter. I get an error box stating

that the application has encountered a problem and needs to close.

In either case, I can't get the files to even open. Does anyone have

any suggestions or ideas??
