Good to hear from you and we hope all goes well for Austin's surgery next

week. What day is she scheduled? I am guessing Friday, from past experience at

RCH. As I have said before, the gtube was the best thing we ever did for

Hannah, and we have never regretted it, so I am hoping that your experience will

be the same. Let us know how she goes when you have the chance, we'll be

thinking of you all.

  • 2 weeks later...

I am so glad the surgery went well and that Austin was well enough for it. It

certainly is strange to see the tube hanging out of the tummy, but you are right

about getting used to it. Before you know it you will not think about it at all.

Have they talked about a button device to replace the tube in a few months?

Hannah had her grommets inserted when her gtube was done too, and its great to

hear that Austin is responding to sounds already. Keep us posted about her

progress.

There is a gtube list if you want extra support about that in particular.

To subscribe - send an e-mail to listserv@.... The subject

does not matter.

In the body of the email put the words subscribe gtube firstname lastname

Hope all continues to go well for you all.

Thanks for you wishes, Karan. had the stonewall

(i think thats what there called??) therapist look at

it yesterday, and she's very happy too, said it's

looks like one of the better ones she's seen done. So

we're happy with it. About the button, they've shown

us what's available, & we will have one put in as soon

as possible (about 8-10 weeks) because the tube is

quite awkward to dress her, and when Austin is laying,

it's right where she normaly lies her arm.

Austin still has problems with her hearing, but the

grommets certainly seemed to have helped, every bit

counts, i guess.

As for the other support group, i won't join yet as

i have enough trouble reading and posting to this one.

But it's good to know that its there, thanks.

I hope Hannah is behaving for you, i don't get to

follow her conditions, closely, as i don't have time

on the web, but i hope she's getting better now.
