Guest guest
Hi O.(liver from Switzerland?) Good question. i am working with the QDS Excalibur myself. As far as research for 4-ch. protocols goes, I am not sure if I have read of any so far. However, the trainings you mention are an excellent opportunity to train with 4ch.! More 4-ch.-designs have been created by , especially interesting are the entropy-designs. is on the list here as well and maybe he can tell you more about that approach, or, I think he has explained some of it earlier on this list or the bioexplorer list. Maybe a search with the word " entropy " can help. I am quite positive that future inventions will go to more than just one or two channel trainings (the addition of channels can be seen with other devices as well) and the QDS devices, that go up to 8-ch. are my personal favorite ones. Guest guest
I have been using the 4 channel QDS Excalibur for quite a while now, and will soon be the proud owner of the 8 channel Quantum.Although I puzzled for quite a while about how to use the 4 channels I was sure that it would add a new level of power to my training, 4 channel alpha sync was one of the first things I tried with very good success. The majority of 4 channel training I do now is with the spectral entropy designs but I have used the 4 channel training in a variety of other ways as well. There is an emerging body of work on the neural networks that activate during cognitive activity which has informed my designs to some extent. I have trained 4 unique channels with BiPolar designs. I have also used 4 channels f3f4 c3c4 for some clients with ADHD as assessment has shown difficulties at all 4 sites. With one and two channel training we have no real idea what is happening at nearby or distant sites. With 4 channel training you can train 2 sites and either observe or train 2 other sites of interest. I will often train both frontal and parietal sites simultaneously as this is the pathway that much sensory information uses.I have also integrated brief bursts of theta synchrony into my training. There is research that indicates that the simultaneous emergence of task related Gamma activity is triggered across distant sites through synchronous theta.I think that as we learn more about the neural networks that are most prominent in cognitive and emotional tasks, the use of more channels will become more common and more effective. As an example of what can be done in BIoExplorer or BioEra I have a prototype 8 channel design that rotates the training (in this case entropy) between all the possible combinations of 4 channels. This happens on a set time period but could also be set to a number of criteria such as the 4 sites with lowest entropy, highest theta/beta ratio, etc. Some of this is clearly still in the "research" domain but the possibilities seem endless and quite exciting georgemartin@...www.northstarneurofeedback.com Hi O.(liver from Switzerland?)Good question. i am working with the QDS Excalibur myself.
