Guest guest
Stan, If you could post something I would be interested too. My son Josh, one of a twin, just got his casting done this past Wed. for a DOC. Josh is 18+ months old, and I am wondering what kind of results to look for. They really couldn't tell me there because of his age. Thanks, Jill --- Becky Keck <becky@...> wrote: > > Hello Stan, > > My daughter just got fitted with a DOC band today. > I would be > interested to know why (if you know, or if anyone > has given you any kind > of indication) the DOC band didn't work for your > twins. Guest guest
I'm going to jump in here for a sec.......... I think it's important for all of us to keep in mind that we should be looking for IMPROVEMENT rather that PERFECTION. As stated earlier, not every treatment works for every person - helmet therapy (of any kind) included. Again I will share my story....... Hanna was diagnosed as severe at 2 months. She got her band at 6 months (after months of unsuccessful aggressive re-positioning), wore the band for 5 months, and now, no, she does not have a perfectly round head. Her facial asymmetry has greatly improved, and her ears are just a smidge misaligned (after being an inch off). We were never promised perfection, and I think if your team promises you this, they are leading you down the wrong path. There are many babies who have gone thru treatment and have come out with perfectly round heads. THAT'S GREAT!!!! But we can't all expect a miracle. kendra Jill wrote: Stan, If you could post something I would be interested too. My son Josh, one of a twin, just got his casting done this past Wed. for a DOC. Guest guest
And I would add, as I responded to Jill separately already, be involved in the progress, ask questions, also explore means for improvement outside of the chosen treatment if necessary. I also agree about perfection--I am more in love with our twins' little personhoods than I am concerned about their head shape ultimately. We still would have liked to see some visible improvement. -----Original Message----- From: & Kendra [mailto:kbgarv@...] Sent: Friday, October 13, 2000 8:14 PM Plagiocephalyegroups Subject: Re: To Stan Kessler!!!
