Austin Pilates for Every Body

I can't believe it. I'm starting to enthusiastically like Austin (and even pilates). This was a fabulous workout! It is another VHS so darn that I want to keep it but I do. (I want room on my shelves so getting rid of VHS tapes helps.) It starts out with a dynamic warm-up, then goes into a mat pilates workout that moved much more quickly and was more challenging than the beginner pilates workouts I've been doing and at times I thought to myself, "This is a little too advanced for me." But, I kept doing the best I could which really wasn't bad. After that, there was some standing pilates work with a chair, she said it was like working at a ballet bar and I liked it (which worries me, I might need to try a barre workout sometime but no rush for that, I didn't love it, just liked it). I think the variety and break from the floor was especially nice. Then there was some standing and floor work using a band that worked both the upper and lower bodies in more traditional weight training moves but obviously with pilates built into it too. I liked that too (except biceps curls, I hate those with the band, I feel like I'm either sacrificing full range of motion or tension on the band to get it right). There was a little bit of yoga and some tai chi in the workout and it was all very energizing and enjoyable. wasn't annoying but probably I was in a good mood so she didn't bug me. I'm actually thinking about pulling out other workouts and doing them next week (virgins and dust bunnies primarily). I'm also enjoying working my abs, which is completely bizarre but I can feel them getting stronger and I like that so I want to continue it. I'll need to plan next week's rotation soon and I really might include more pilates and more . Weird!
