,Hi All,

I am very new to the world of Hypnosis so please excuse me for my

ignorance in the question asked. My father is currently suffering from a disease

called CIDP or Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy. Chronic

inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy is disease believed to be due to

immune cells, cells which normally protect the body from foreign infection, but

here begin incorrectly attacking the nerves in the body instead. As a result,

the affected nerves fail to respond, or respond only weakly, to stimuli causing

numbing, tingling, pain, progressive muscle weakness, loss of deep tendon

reflexes (areflexia), fatigue, and abnormal sensations.

He has responded positively to monthly dosage of Intra venous Immuno

Globulins(IVIG) to the extent that progression of the disease has stopped.

However his body is becoming weaker day by day as he unable to do any physical exercise

due to excessive pain.

My question to the group is that is there a way we can use

hypnosis to treat this kind of a situation?

One thought that did cross my mind is that can we hypnotize some

of his limbs and make him do physiotherapy and other such things to keep his

muscles strong.

Any suggestion/recommendation in this regard is highly

appreciated.

Regards

Shonal
