Guest guest
Hi Tina, I am new to the group and my daughter has had three PIC lines in her 6 years of illness, Chelsea expericed some discomfort while recv Rocephin also, the doctor felt it was the drug and not the line. Has Mike had a reaction to rocephen before? After Chelsea felt discomfort she actually bit and broke her PIC line and when we tried to have repaired she then became red and flushed for about a 1/2 hour so the doctors think she was sesitive to the Drug, needless to say the next PIC she had was stiched in place. I am not sure if this helps any but I thought I would share.... I hope Mike feels much better real soon. Take care and my prayers are with you Marlo Mom to Chelsea Age 6, IGA /IGM def Chronic Sinusitis and Ear with reative airway.
Guest guest
Hi Tina, It depends on placement. s was not in quite far enough so she would have discomfort under her harm. It can be a vasospasm when the med is first infused that lets up when it gets started good. I am sure they X rayed for placement which verifies that it is safe to use. I am so sorry he is having so much discomfort. I know after s surgery she was so much better that we were very glad we went through it with her. I am going to Portland for the weekend with the kids so I will be off line for a few days. I am a nurse but learned as much by going through both of my kids having PICC lines over the last couple of years. Barbie 11, Chronic sinusitis, GERD, kidney reflux disease NO immune disorder, Lucas 5, Dysgammaglobulinemia, hypo, etc.
