PH Probes

At what point do the specialists decide to do a PH Probe? Is it done as a

matter of course once reflux is established, or only under specific

circumstances? Also, are there any increased infection risks involved in having

a probe because of the immune deficiency?

We see the GI specialist on Monday, and I want to be prepared-- has been

under this specialist for a year now and it took the new immuno to order the

barium study which showed the hiatus hernia and stretched esophagus. I want to

be sure this time she is doing all she should!

With thanks,

, and s mum
