Congratulations !!!

You did it kiddo!

Awesome news !!!! Jeez, 2 months, how quick did that go by?! What a great blessing for Thanksgiving. We didn't do the exit cast, it would have been his 3rd casting experience and we felt the correction was obvious to us. graduated at 8 months, and I think as long as you are still diligent about keeping him off the back of his head and watching that tort, regression should not be an issue. Thanks for the great news, please keep us posted- I'm sure you'll still be analyzing that noggin. Give him extra kisses from us!

Congratulations to RYAN. We are so happy for you. It is so great to be done for the holidays. That is so great that he had such success in such a short time!

Hello Everyone, Yipeeeee! officially graduated this morning...just in time for the Holidays! No more plastic hitting me in the face and I get to kiss is little round noggin all the time :)His head is almost perfect....certainly within normal range. We are thrilled with the correction he has received in just 2 months. We haven't decided what to do about the exit casting. I really don't want to do it, but being that is only 7 months old & still has mild tort..I'm afraid not to. We'll think about it over the weekend. I just want to say thanks to all of you for your advice and support. This is such a great group! As soon as I can get my act together I'll post some before and after pics. Have a Happy Thanksgiving! ,

What a sweet email, it's so funny you think you'll never miss the helmet, and then you do! I was the same way, and at the same time, your glad its over! It did come in handy as a crash helmet tho! Keep up the good work on resolving the tort- that too will come to an end one day, hang in there!!!

Thanks so much everyone for your well wishes. We have decided not to

do the exit mold. I just can't bear to go through it. sleeps on

his belly now and spends almost no time on his back as he is sitting

on his own now. I can barely strap him in his carseat these days.

He's ready to move. I have to admit...and I never thought i would say

this, but part of me misses the helmet. 's trying to stand and

crawl. I can't tell you how many times he bumped his noggin this

weekend. I think I am head obsessed though...I've been kissing his

little noggin every chance I get. It is so great not to get hit in

the face with plastic and nursing is much easier too.

Congratulations ! I know what you mean after having the helmet off

and readjusting. Jenna had hers off 2 days thtis wekend for a fever too.

My husband said lets just be done. She still has a month left. We elected

to put it back on. She still has 2 issues I hope improve in her last month.

I am hoping for improvement on her ears and a spot on the top right of the

back of her head. I don't think I would have put it back on her if we only

had a week left. She was enjoying no band and I must admit so was I.

Neither one of us really mind it but it was just nice without it too.

I am a little angry like you. It took us 3 months to get into a specialist.

So Jenna didn't start until 9 months old. I just try to tell myself that I

can't say what if. We are lucky in the fact that we are only 10-15 minutes

away from Jenna's orthosist. I know so many people have such long trips. I

admire and respect all of you who make that long trip. I too would have

done it if no one was close.

I am so happy. On the 23rd of Feb. we took for her craniofacial check up. We half expected to be scolded for her not wearing her helmet recently (she hated it since about her first birthday- she is now 15 months)....She was eval'd by the phys therapist and determined that her developmental delay and torticollis is "resolved"! Then she was examined by the cranio and he said it's okay that she hasn't worn her helmet, he considers her plagio to be "resolved" as well!He said very politely "We don't ever want to see you again." LOLExcept of course, if I feel they need to.I know I haven't been very active here, but you all are in my thoughts and I want to THANK YOU all for the tremendous amount of support I recieved here (especially in the beginning)! We'll check in from time to time & I

Has Graduated!

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share the great news that has GRADUATED from his

DOC band today!!! He has received great correction in the three months

he has been wearing the band, and we are so happy that we decided to

proceed with banding him. What a wonderful birthday present for him -

he turned 1 last week!

When we arrived at the CT office today, a young mother with her little

6-month old was just finishing up with her appointment, and her son

had just received his band. It was clear that she was having a hard

time adjusting to the fact that her son had the band, and my husband

and I tried to reassure her that all would be ok, that she is doing

the best thing for her son, and that having the band is the most

difficult for us parents than for the child. I felt so good that I

was able to share our experience with her, and I only hope that I

reassured her that she is doing the best thing for her son.

I want to thank everyone for all the valuable advice and support you

have provided me throughout our 'journey'. I know that I could not

have survived the process if not for this message board and all the

experiences and advice that everyone has shared. I hope to continue

to post on this board, if only to hope that sharing my experiences

will benefit the next mom or dad out there who feels as confused,

uncertain, etc. as I did when this journey began for my family.

Thank you!!!

Best regards to all,

and , DOC band graduate!
