Guest guest
Hi all, Today I've been reading Ann Lawson's book, Understanding the Borderline Mother, and my hat is off to the author. She's caught the essence of nada. My nada is on every page so far. Besides SWOE, this book should be required reading for everyone on all my Oasis lists. The only quibble I have with what I've read so far is her stuff about nada's sons. But we can discuss that later when others have finished reading it. This book is 'heavy' for me to read. It knocked the socks off my day today because of the memories that its stirred up. I find myself staring at the wall a lot, dealing with those memories. I'm relating to it from several different viewpoints: 1 - my childhood and how my nada's 'parenting' affected me, 2 - my BP hubby's role as my children's fada, and 3 - my role as the mother of my children, with all of my fleas. Its addicting to read and I don't want to put it down but I'm a slow reader and I'm underlining and making notes in the margins as I go. I can see now just how important these Oasis lists have been for KOs over the years. Gotta get back to THE book. Maybe I'll pull an all-nighter with it tonight??? Hugs, Edith
