Guest guest
Boo-hoo, woe is me! I wish I had time to watch Abe Lincoln, but Nooooooo......just kidding. Edith, I look forward to the time when nada is gone, maybe even hubby (who has been verbally abusive and, I suspect, even has some mild BP traits, but next to my nada he looks like God), and kids are off doing their thing, and I can have some peaceful solitude. I love the way you describe it. I totally agree that Todd Lincoln was probably BP. It was a well-known fact that she hated Washington and was resentful of Lincoln's life. On his part, he suffered from depression (who wouldn't, as president of a country killing itself) and also probably from something called Marfan's Syndrome, a genetic condition that affects the body's connective tissues. Some of the signs are unusual height, very long arms and legs, slightly abnormal facial features, and problems with the eyes and aortas. I used to think he had gigantism (if you have ever seen a true giant up close, you know what I mean), but my (brilliant but sometimes childish) physician husband said most experts think it was Marfan's. So poor old Abe had to deal with a lot more than just a war..... Kathy In Minnesota
