Forwarding a message that might be of interest to the group.

Keep an eye out for this and other " packaging " plans, which use

readily available software and hardware that can be matched by other less

costly alternatives, limit the options you would have if you bought the

software or hardware for yourself and then charge a lot more for it.

" I've been running the EEG Spectrum Neurocybernetics

software with the old amp on a couple of 486s in DOS! They have served me

well these past twelve years and now I want to upgrade all the way

around. I purchased the Cygnet software and NeuroAmp in January for about

$2K. It was in " Beta " and had some bugs that made it difficult

to run daily in my clinic. I returned the whole package and told them I'd

wait until the final version. When they came out with the final version,

they jacked the price to $9K. "

FYI, the NeuroAmp has specs about equivalent to the Focus

($570) and Cygnet is a shell placed over BioEra software ($250).

Those are LIST prices--not what the manufacturer is paying, so you can

calculate for yourself the profit involved in selling--or forcing someone

to buy--these packages.

Hi Rene,

It is great to hear about your experience with your QDS Access! I am

using various QDS-Devices as well and there is no match for them imho.

Just one sidenote: the QDS Access is still available and is the big

brother of QDS Focus. It is especially made for clinicians and uses

another, more expensive manufacturing method and even more sophisticated

parts than the QDS Focus does. It is being tested a full 7 days before

leaving the producer, as are QDS Excalibur and QDS Quantum, the

excellent 4- and 8-channel amplifiers.

QDS Access sells for US$ 1150.-.

See at the manufacturer's webpage: http://www.qds.com.ar or at the

European QDS Institute:
