Guest guest
Tina, My son does not have side effects from the Gamimune N. He has only had Tylenol very rarely for a little temperature. His infusion time is down to 2 1/2 to 3 hours. He is only taking 10 grams. He has been on this same dose for a long time now. His last level was taken on Jan.31, 2000 and without missing any doses of IVIG to see how he is doing with the IVIG, it was only 510 Low with 694-1618 range. The immuno. did not raise the dose though last summer because he was doing so well. He did well this school year also. We see the immuno.'s partner in a few days for a checkup. Our timing wasn't right to see the regular immuno., but he will still check the records and test results. We have not gone off IVIG to check his real level since age 7 1/2. He is now 13. The doc says he will recheck at age 16. Our immuno. does not order large doses of IVIG and I am comfortable with that. I think homeschooling has helped a lot. We do activities with the homeschool group and he plays card tournaments etc., but is not around very many sick kids. He is still slow to recover when he does catch something. I really think your son is brave. It is tough to take a medicene that makes you feel bad, to keep you well. Perhaps a lower dose would help your son, but not cause all the side effects, I just don't know. My son is quite small, only weighing about 79 pounds. He is growing well right now and feeling good most days. We love it. Now, if we could only boost his confidence.... Best of luck to you, Mike, and your other family members.
