Guest guest
HI, i am just curious as far as the twins go if their are any identical twins out there that was is typical, and one is autisic that would be interesting to know because that would pretty much mean autisim, and pdd is for sure caused by something other than being genetic since some researchers seem to believe that. if i am not mistaken identical would mean they have the same genes. Guest guest
Last Friday my daughter and I went to hear Temple Grandin speak. She brought up this specific topic. As she explained it even thought a set of identical twins have the exact same genes, it is in the developement phase that autism seems to occur. Thus one can be profoundly autistic, yet their identical twin can have milder characteristics or even be normally developed neurologically. This is still genetically connected. Hope this might help you. in NY ----- Original Message ----- HI, i am just curious as far as the twins go if their are any identical twins out there that was is typical, and one is autisic that would be interesting to know because that would pretty much mean autisim, and pdd is for sure caused by something other than being genetic since some researchers seem to believe that. if i am not mistaken identical would mean they have the same genes.
