Guest guest
hello there, Just " finished " 14-year-old son w/ADHD's assessment. Had a horrible time getting decent signals (he has decided to grow his hair long, and it's thick!). After much work (in between recordings he decided to be " as distractible and fidgety as possible to get it all out of me!! " (this included growling, stomping, fuming, etc., as I begged him not to disturb the electrodes on his head) we got it done, BUT (1) there is some STRANGE stuff going on during the last two recordings in the assessment, although the impedances were okay. Very spiky. (2) could anybody walk me through (AGAIN) how to get the recordings into folders that can be mailed to Pete? This is from the Infiniti. [(3) I simply don't get the idea of not putting electrodes on the hair, since the spaces between hairs are MUCH tinier than the diameter of the electodes. Just doesn't make sense to me. You have to stick them on SOME hair] (4) I just don't understand how you (generic) do these hookups without getting goop everywhere! I am trying, simultaneously, to: find site; hold hair aside to make as much space as possible; while holding hair aside, use free hand to grab some prep stuff(if person happens to move head while this is going on , my finger slips and the proper site is ---gone --- and I have to find it all over again); rub prep on site; turn to get electrode that I have put paste on already; hope that in this process the site that I've prepped doesn't disappear into the rest of the hair AGAIN; put electrode on, in the process smooshing some paste outside of the electrode, more likely than not on hair around the site; ETC.; hope to god the thing stays on and doesn't start SLIDING AROUND (because it is on hair; because there is a LOT of hair); repeat 10 times!!! What am I doing wrong here, or is it time to spring for the Activ Electrodes? (And is it possible to use snap-on electrodes for EEG? How do they work?) thank you, very frustrated, need some wine (at least)
