I would like to comment on the auditory hypersensitivity. My dtr., Jill,

is now 11 years old. When she was three, she would open the door in the

morning to go outside and cover her ears immediately claiming that the

" birds were barking. " From those days, her sensitivity has gotten much

better, but, she still screams when she hears an ambulance, a motorcycle or

a food processor. At least the birds don't seem to be barking any more! I

think children desensitize themselves to some of the noises, but, there are

just some things that are at a painful decibel to them and they *CAN NOT*

ignore. Her hearing sensitivity was greatly reduced when she took a small

amount of Haldol, but, the side effect of the medication was not worth it,

plus, the Haldol sorta " dulled " all of her senses and she just wasn't

herself. I hope the auditory sensitivity that your daughter is

experiencing will lessen with time, just as Jill's has. Best,
