Guest guest
Is this something that is too good to be true? Is this place reputable? I am currently working with my natropath to use supplements to keep my immune system stable and avoid going back on HIV meds. A quick summary. Poz for almost 2 years. Started meds (Kaletra & Combnivr) 3 months after seroconverting. Dr's plan was to do meds for 1 year and then stop to see where I settled out. Labs are below. Right now my Dr's not thrilled about no meds but is ok with my decision to watch where the numbers go. (Please no opinions about my choices - yes I know how high my VL really is) In July it is time to run my labs again and if this guy is for real I think his protocol is worth a shot. And I will have time to research/buy the supplies. Guest guest
Hi To answer your question, yes, I think Steve is a really competent immunologist with a great desire to help his fellow men (and women). He's certainly not working on buying a bigger yacht. I've followed his work since Aug last year, and been a member of the discussion group. Some of the DG group members are very informed and from time to time, sparks have flown. In other words, Steve's ideas have been challenged a lot. One thing several of us disagreed with was his fixation on EGCG (because mouse Adam had got such good results). Early this month, he did a 180degree turn on this, to theanine rather than the EGCG component of tea. And now it looks like (one swallow doesn't make a summer) he is getting some results.I'm a believer, and I've followed every change he has made since I found the site - that is, I've taken all the stuff. I'm not sure where my VL is becoz I think the PCR test is not specific for the strain I have. It shows around 1000-2000 copies, but CD4 dropped to 213 after 2 years poz. It is back up to 260 at present, after I dropped EGCG in Jan and started taking Andrographis and a range of stuff including more beta carotene, CoQ10. One item Steve mentioned early in his work was monolaurin. I have been taking this since Dec (as Lauricidin) and I think it is great stuff. Details at www.lauricidin.com. Prof Jon Kabara is also keen to help with HIV. I also take vit/min etc following recommendations from Immune Restoration Handbook (www.keephopealive.com), Healing HIV (www.jonkaiser.com), and and 's book. I posted results on pozhealth a couple of weeks back showing my levels of supp's and blood levels - all good.I have yet to need HAART (and hope to hell the ibuprofen/theanine works so I can avoid HAART). I feel much strongerin my gut now than I did some months back - I put it down to the lauricidin, which we know does a good job on herpes, which we know does a lot of the damage to poz people. I'm less sure about the Andrographis.Steve has had good success with some cancers. However, HIV is his top priority. All the HIV stuff he'll publish free, I'm sure. (I belong to the paid DG and I subscribe to the paid blog. It was free up until recently, when his software crashed, and his new software is not free.)hope this helps, and the more people who get involved with Steve 's work, the faster we'll get a clear picture. wrote: Is this something that is too good to be true?
