I think that any 'silver' fillings are mercury amalgam: I don't think you can

use stainless steel for fillings (as it'sa a hard metal and not a workable soft

amalgam), but only for tailor-made metalcrowns which fit on top of the tooth.

So I guess he will have to have white fillings if they are filling cavities.

(The alternative is extraction, which has its own drawbacks.)

There is no such thing as SS fillings, maybe they are putting a cap on it instead, more usual if child is young and as far as I know yes that's OK for chelation but I would double check on A-M list
