Nutcase Mother

I just remembered a story that I needed to share.

Several years ago, when Grace was oh, probably 5, in the early stages of her

diagnosis (less than one year), I was on her ative Nursery School

Board. We had a mother who did not want her child vaccinated, and based on

state laws, she did not have to as she checked the religious objection box.

Well, we " experienced " mothers were horrified that a mother would not

vaccinate their child. What kind of " nutcase " was she? We spent the better

part of two three hour long board meetings discussing how to keep her

unvaccinated child out of our co-op and had major discussions with the local

pediatrician (He's pro-vaccine). Needless to say, the state said we had to

let her in and she was fine. Now I am the nutcase mother who should have

listened to her and what she already knew!
