Guest guest
I tend to agree. While I love the group and the information dispensed, and have no intention of unsubscribing - it's quite burdensome to not have subject changes which reflect the contents of each post and also to have each message go on and on. I've not said anything before because I know I have all the freedom in the world to delete, delete, delete and pass over, etc., but I also feel the info being shared can be important and I want to get the benefit of it. However, it's challenging to do so with such long posts and no real clue as to whether I want to even read each one due to the same subject going on and on and on when the subject itself took a hike a long while back. Not intending to be negative, but I've not said anything for the past year or so that I've been in the group, but felt like it was appropriate to speak up now, since Suzanne opened the door with her post. Getting at least three digests so far today and its only 11 am!! All these extremely long untrimmed posts or 'thanks for the info' posts is filling up my inbox. Thanks for what good info is there though, I'll catch it on the web page. _,___
Guest guest
I don't get the daily digest for exactly that reason; I belong to other groups on Yahoo and found I just couldn't keep up, particularly trying to scroll down through repeated sections of messages just to get to the next message in the digest. So I do sympathise. This is a suggestion for those who find the digest all too much hard work (which it is!). I select to send individual emails to my inbox on my hotmail account. So that they don't clog up my main inbox I have created a message rule and a folder which I just called 'sprout'. All the individual messages from this group go straight there. Days I don't have time to read them all, I can scroll through the message titles and any of interest I open. Other days they all get deleted as I know they are on the yahoo group page if I ever need to pick up a thread. Otherwise I just work up the emails with the arrow function at the top right hand of the message page. It's so easy to just skip through them that way. Today I got through somewhere around 40 emails in about ten minutes, all the simple comments were easily scanned and onto the next. At the end of your reading or whenever you decide you've read all you want (or not at all if you're busy), you can select the entire folder and delete them all off. You can easily open a hotmail account (or any of the other web broswer accounts as they all have around the same functionality) and change your settings in your membership page to send all emails there. I do advise that people have a web browser free email address they can use in anycase, for signing up to any website. It will stop your private email address getting into the hands of spammers. If your hotmail (yahoo, aol etc) address gets spammed, no sweat! If anyone wants help in setting up a folder in hotmail you're welcome to email me privately and I'll send you instructions Charlotte
