Guest guest
When my doctor heard that we had United HealthCare he shook his head and said " Forget about it. They are not going to pay for it. " He said he never had success with them. Good luck to you in your appeal. Mine was denied each and every time. Keep me posted. Also, I responded to your last post with my e-mail and name. Again, anything I can do to help. Guest guest
Jaya, I agree whole-heartedly with what Marci said. You did an outstanding job on the CAPPS site and I wish I'd had that information when I first noticed my daughter's head shape and was told it was nothing to worry about. Thanks for all your efforts. Guest guest
Jaya and all..... A few weeks ago when Vince had appt with neuro, I mentioned these support groups. He sounded very interested. He just didn't have much spare time to talk so he asked that I e-mail the info to him. He said he had 4 new plagio patients that prior week and the ortho he recommends was just loving it! Once he received info, he said maybe his office could put something together for parents whose children were recently DX. I mentioned the fact that CAPPS2000 was becoming a national group and he was pretty impressed. He also commented on how imp it was for the AAP to change their views on back sleeping. This afternoon, my daughter had a dentist appt. I took the opportunity to ask dr if he knew of any cases where plagio had Been left untreated and eventually caused dental problems. He personally did not have an answer but will check into it for me. It so happens that he also works at the Univ of Chicago assisting the craniofacial surgeons in reconstructive surgeries such as craino. He was pretty well informed on what I was talking about and said he has seen some pretty severe cases. I think I might have stirred some interest here. I'll wait and see what he finds.
