Guest guest
I have tried the 20 rep squats program. I originally read it in MILO strength journal and subsequently bought the book " Super Squats " by Dr.Randall J. Strossen. I personally made better gains from it then any other program in my 19 years of lifting. I went from 180 to 225 in 6 months. I gained 30lbs in the first 3 months. Granted it was not all muscle. But most of it was and my strength went up as well. My squat started at 135x20 and was up to 315x20 after 6 months. As far as why 1x20 3 times a week. It is supposed to be a simple plan that makes you work harder then you have ever worked before. Loading your max weight for 10 reps and bust out 20. And increase it by 5lbs each successive session. I personally think it is a great program. It is not easy at all, the hardest program I have ever tried, but it put more muscle on me than anything else.
