Guest guest
This is exactly what I do. 5 frozen chunked up (or sliced up bananas). one tablespoon Stevia in the Raw (or 3 packets of Stevia or any sweetner you prefer). one giant tablespoon of natural peanut butter one tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder 1/4 cup of any kind of milk, soy milk, low fat, fat free, almond, ANY kind of milk, even half and half (fat free, etc) will do. I have also added one half teaspoon of pure vanilla extract. Put on top of Vitamix mix. Tamper should be in place. Turn right switch to ON, Turn variable switch to 10, turn left switch to HIGH. As it makes the noise, take the tamper and push down on all four corners. It will be noisy as hell. You'll think you are breaking the machine. This is a VITAMIX, it can take it. As the noise starts to change, that means it's BLENDING all the ingredients (frozen bananas, etc.) Keep pushing the tamper down. This takes a lot of practice because I don't care what anyone says, the first time you do this no one knows what they are doing. Only by feeling the way the tamper moves, only by pushing down on all four sides, does one realize to themselves: " OH, THIS IS HOW IT'S DONE " . Then as it's blending, take the tamper and go all around the corners. (There are videos on youtube, that's how I learned. When you hear the noise change to this horrid noise, look inside the lid and you will see 4 mounds forming. THAT'S WHEN IT'S DONE. And how long does all this take? About 35 seconds. Maybe less. Alan can never get this right. Took me a long time. I can now do this blindfolded because I've been doing it for so long. Initially I would add ice cubes because that's what it says in the recipe book. But if you add ice cubes, you cannot re-freeze it without having to re-tamper it. By doing it exactly as I described, you can make BATCHES of this stuff, let's say I have to ziplock bags filled with frozen bananas. I do one bag at a time, I get out little containers, I take my ice cream scooper, I make all portions, (you can then add any toppings you like, for example shredded coconut, some M & M's, some peanut butter chips or morsels, etc. etc.) Then you tightly wrap this in plastic wrap and immediately put it in your freezer. Then you can make more batches and do the exact same thing. I once made 9 portions of this. That meant I didn't have to make any more for 9 evenings. I'm busy enough, this was a godsend. People can do this in the Montel 's machine, and the Ninja Pro (you don't have to tamper anything, it has an ice cream setting. But my Vitamix is the best thing since sliced bread. lol Melody
