Guest guest
That is auditory processing issue, not a hearing issue. I don't know how/if you can test for auditory processing on NHS 'normal' tests, but almost take it as a given that most our kids have this issue. Confirmed and 'peer' reviewed many times. We had this done yonks and yonks ago, they came and did it at home and said it was normal, in those days I didn't question 'normal' Mandi x Anyone had a sleeping hearing test done? Anyone had the possibility raised that hearing problem could be an issue in language problems for their child? Does anyone even suspect that their child might not be hearing them properly ie muffled hearing, able to hear whispers but not hear anything clearly? Guest guest
Hi Vicky, Would it be a brain stem test? We had this done years ago when N was about 2 yrs old, after he failed many hearing tests. He had to be asleep for the test and I recollect he was sedated. They were then checking to see if there were problems with his brain stem which would be causing " problems " with responding to sounds. emily > > No, it isn't either of these it's some kind of hearing test, sensorial? > done under aneasthetic, think they do it on infants after ear infections, > maybe not if they are diagnosed with autism? > Definitely not APD though. > Vicky >
