Guest guest
Carolyn: The sure to grow mats I got from Sprouthouse are YELLOW, nothing remotely white about them. Could be the image that my Flip camera takes that doesn't let the yellow fully come out. But not to worry. Sprouthouse just emailed me the following explanation (I wrote to them asking why their mats were yellow and the others were white). Here is their reply: ------------------------------------------------------------------ " thank you for your recent email and for your purchases as well. the sure to grow video that you watch has a product that is made from recycle PET plastic, recycled soda bottles. that is the white product. The product that i sell is made from Tencel fiber which is cellulose and is bio-degradeable in soil. i carry the rolls of the white material but not the sheets of it. it is a product from sure to grow, you can email them and make certain of this if you wish. i think i may be they only company or one of the only companies that they sell this product to any longer. i like it because it is biodegradeable in soil. and it has the same properties and qualities as the recycled PET plastic product. when they first approached me to carry this product, i just fell in love with sprouting all over again. i think it makes sprouting so much easier because the seeds/sprouts do not dry out during the day. i use this everytime i sprout my leafy sprouts and just love it. --------------------------------------------------------------------- So Carolyn,I feel very reassured by this explanation and I've bought sprouting seeds from them also. Never had a problem. I think I'll follow their lead and grow a batch of brassicas using this tencel Sure to Grow Mat. We'll see how it goes. So exciting to find a less messy solution than coir. Will update. Melody
