I still take some pain medicine - 1 ansaid at dinner and one celebrex at breakfast plus one anti depressant (1/2 of a Celexa at breakfast). I'm curious about what medicine you take for pain. I've found that taebo and yoga (plus the medicine described above) take care of the pain for me. You can write me here or privately at Etcarroll2@.... Exercise and stretching have converted me into believing that they are the answer for chronic pain. I hope you find great relief from Tae-Bo and that you are able to be free of all pain medications one day in the near future
Guest guest
Colleen I can't remember if I've welcomed you to the group, I've had a weekend visiting friends so am catching up I'm so chuffed for you, because I've had similar, being in 2 minor car accidents in 2 days, and recognise all you problems, I've had trhe carpal tunnel too, which is more likely related. TaeBo was helping me loads, but I'm having Bowen Therapy now and I feel like I've got a whole new body, I'd resigned myself to living with frequent discomfort and pain, hedaches like migraine, and generally a 'damaged' and restricted body - well not anymore. I would REALLY recommend you check out the website www.bowtech.com and see if there are any practitioners near you, I knew as soon as I got up from my first session that it was working and it only takes 2-3 session, so it won't break the bank, I've been able to afford it. I can't tell you the difference it's already made to me in just a few weeks, he's even helped sort out problems with my breathing and sinuses that I didn't realise I had!!!!! I KNOW i'm not going to spend this winter, stiff & sore and dependent on painkillers, and I'm so looking forward to pushing this new body doing TaeBo later next week, you'll all hear about it I'm sure. Jill who's blessed to have been given a 'new lease of life' on all levels physical and emotional. All the accidents seem to aggravate my upper neck and some mid back. Mostly I have cervical pain and headaches, and sometimes pain radiating down through my shoulder blades. I also have some carpal tunnel symptoms in both hands, although the doctors aren't sure it if is typical carpal tunnel or a result of my neck problems.I currently take Vicodin and Robaxin (muscle relaxant) for pain. Usually I take 4 Vicodin a day AND 4 Robaxin a day, plus Feldene (anti-inflammatory) once a day in the mornings and a low dose Amitryptilline at night for sleeping. I was waking up with pain and not getting a good night's sleep and then the "pain cycle" wouldn't break. I'd literally wake up with in pain. Up until a few months ago, I actually was up to 8 Robaxin a day and with acupuncture have been able to reduce it to 4 a day. This weekend was amazing for me. I went to dog shows both days and on Saturday was there all day, doing a lot of standing. Usually even with the medication, my neck is throbbing. But again I only took about half the dose I regularly take AND we went out that night and stood again. I think doing the TaeBo helps stretch and strengthen the muscles. So far, so good!!Colleen Prickett
