Guest guest
I will be editing a book on using creative modalities with males, females, families, and children who have experienced domestic violence. It has been accepted for publication by C. Publishers. I am looking for chapter proposals in art, play, dance, music, drama, poetry, and other creative therapies. After selecting the creative modality that is your area of expertise, please narrow your focus to one of the following subcategories – work with children, adults, or families. This will be highly competitive as I am only selecting a limited number of chapters. Cross cultural chapters are highly encouraged. Art Therapy: Child survivors Teen survivors Adult survivors Play Therapy: Child survivors Teen survivors Adult survivors Dance/Movement Therapy: Child survivors Teen survivors Adult survivors Music Therapy: Child survivors Teen survivors Adult survivors Drama Therapy: Child survivors Teen survivors Adult survivors Poetry Therapy: Child survivors Teen survivors Adult survivors Special Chapters: Individual versus group approaches to therapy Cultural differences Ethical considerations Legal issues – how to present in court proceedings Supervision issues SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS: The deadline for the proposal is August 30, 2006 Please Follow the Submission Criteria: The document must be submitted in MS Word and virus checked prior to sending. Your bio and all contact information should appear at the end of the document – phone number, address, preferred email, and please give alternate email addresses, as they tend to change. The proposal must be written in APA style (how you cite your sources and list your references will be a strong criteria for acceptance) The article MUST use references and theory from the field to support you work – another strong criteria The proposal should be 3 pages, with references, and contain a one paragraph biography of your work, education, writing experience, and practical experience with survivors. Please submit the documents as MS Word documents (Save as .doc or .rtf files please) Please put this in one document. I. Introduction II. Special population – (children, adults, families) III. Creative approach – (art, play, dance, music, drama, poetry or other creative modality) IV. Rationale – why would this chapter be of interest to students, educators, and creative therapists V. Conclusion VI. Reference list VII. One paragraph Bio outlining credentials, educational experience, and work experience with this special population If you have questions or need additional information, please contact me and be sure to put "DV Book Proposal" in your subject section. Please send the proposal in a Word document containing your full name, credentials, e-mail, and other contact information within the document. Pictures: Your chapter will be limited to four pictures, submitted in .jpeg format. A publication release form must accompany any pictures you send. I will be reviewing the proposals the first week of September and the authors will be informed by the end of the month of September, at the latest. This book will be a quick turn around and I plan to stand by the deadlines. If you have any questions please let me know. I want the book to the publisher by the end of 2006. Send to: L@... Guest guest
Dear , I will be submitting a proposal surrounding my work with African American teen survivors of who experienced domestic violence. I began this group as part of my internship process and met with some participants through individual counseling. Although the group was not formed specifically for domestic violence, this theme was prevalent amongst the participants. I also interned at a women's shelter through Palladia, Inc and worked with women of which some were domestic violence survivors. My teen group still meets, however, not as consistently since my girls are now enrolled in college or working (awesome!). I hope my proposal would be of interest to you for your project. Guest guest
Hello Barbara - I cannot seem to find poetry therapists for my works so your proposal will be greatly welcomed. I look forward to receiving your work :-) L. , Ph.D., NCCstephanielbrooke@...http://www.stephanielbrooke.com
Guest guest
Thank you. I need to ask for your help in this process, would you be able to supply me with a sample proposal for acceptance. I am also writing a chapter for another author about my own survival story and she supplied me with an example of what was acceptable. I hope this is not an outlandish request. I look forward to working with you on this project. Have a blessed day, Barbara Bethea, MA RPT
