Hi Thanks for your encouraging words, its why I like this group, we all support one another so well. I feel privileged to be able to support Ian. Although its not such fun as on such occasions like when I came home from hospital three weeks ago after a knee operation, out of the ambulance and staggered through the front door on two crutches, Ian immediately began explaining in detail to me about a problem he had, never mind asking about my plastered leg!!!! An hour later, I still had my coat on..... and he hadnt asked about my operation, but he does feel comfortable about discussing his thoughts with me now, which is a great leap forward for us. And he has been very kind to me which is also new, and is as a result of him appreciating himself more. As for the knitting, tell those who query your hobby that Kaffe Fassett has built his career on

knitting, and as a keen knitter myself I use his wonderful patterns a lot. Quite complex is knitting, so not for sissies - anyone think an Arran Pattern is easy????, and of course its a great relaxant. I know some old soldiers who can knit from when they were taught during the Second World War. You are doing what feels right for you, so who can cock a snook? Its part of your identity! If the aliens do land and catch you mid pearl stitch, you can always give 'em a scarf? Judy B, also knitting (to keep warm) Scotland (snip).........Just last night, another woman on a public transit bus told me that I was the first man she had ever seen knit.................Thanks for your post,>> Hi > Your post is so encouraging. Well Done. May I explain that when Ian was diagnosed he started to express himself more, he opened up to his feelings and it was a brand new world. Its that old adage, love yourself before you can love others.>
