Guest guest
Hello all!!I am enjoying all the interesting threads running here, and hope more are forthcoming! I have an Asperger's group within Mensa's Special Interest Groups. I have membership restricted so spammers do not get in, and prospective members must write a comment as to why they wqant to join.We have currently 224 members living in 14 nations. Non Mensans are allowed. On 31 December I received a request to join, with an unusual comment from our new member. Here is it following, and I never heard of this before!"Comment from user:A physician recommended Mensa to me because of the existence of an Asperger's related group. I have not joined Mensa yet, and would like to know what their Asperger's SIG has to offer." We talk about AS effecting our lives as do we here in ASPIRES. I am perplexed a Physician would reccomend joining Mensa just to get into a SIG for Aspies! There are MANY AS groups in Yahoo, Google and MSN groups! I do not know yet what state this person resides in . Looking forward to hearing more about this.Has anyone been reccomended to AS online groups by Doctors or Psychiarists??Cheers to all!!Terry KlasekSaint Louis (68 degrees) Missouri
