Guest guest
Greetings: To all of U who are computer savy: I bought a tower this morning and have not taken it out of the box because if I do I will never let it go. lol Here is the question. I bought a system that runs Vista. What R your thoughts??? Am I better off with a system that is XP? I have always used Front Page 2003 to update the web sites and was told Vista will not support that at this time, unless I can find a patch. The other software I have that I use the most , Vista supports. Vista vs. XP? What R your thoughts and concerns? I have heard mixed support over Vista... Many Thanks! Guest guest
, I’m not computer savvy either. But my well-informed computerized friend has assured me that I should stick well and truly to my XP. He is familiar with Vista and doesn’t recommend it. If I recall, I think he told me that Vista doesn’t match with other things and will cost too much to have everything re-purchased and re-installed. I’m still very happy with my XP. Good luck, Ron. Guest guest
Hi ,Vista is a very controversial operating system. Some people swear by it although most people hate it. One of the marketing schemes with Microsoft and Vista is this new Vista platform does not support many earlier versions of Microsoft programs. I suppose the concept was to get a great many people on Vista and then they'd have to either buy upgrades for their software or purchase entirely new software libraries.I am a die hard Windows98 user and I too am going to have to make a computer decision shortly because my system is being outdated by new, graphic intensive software. Many computer suppliers: Dell, Toshiba, Sony, Gateway/Acer, Hewlett Packard have either stopped offering, or are in the process of not giving their customers a choice as to whether they can have a new system loaded with XP instead of Vista. My advice. If you have a fabulous software library of programs that are easy for you to use and work very well on the XP platform, do NOT buy a new machine with Vista loaded. (Just make sure the system is "Vista enabled"...meaning XP is loaded but if you need to, all the necessary components are there to upgrade out of XP to Vista at a later time.)If you are a new technology lover who can't wait to get the latest, greatest and newest software out there for the tasks you either love or need....go right out and get a Vista loaded machine.Bottom line, people who have problems with Vista are those who are trying to run their current library of software on the Vista operating system.People who love Vista are the one's who had no problem ditching all their older software and buying whole suites of new Vista compatible software.Good luck!Regards, Anita>> Greetings:> > To all of U who are computer savy:> > I bought a tower this morning and have not taken it out of the box because if I do I will never let it go. lol> > Here is the question.
