Guest guest
I want to begin saying I am not in any way saying that Tamaflu should never be used. I just think parent and doctors need to be aware of the possible side effects to look for. On Feb 14th my 6 year old was tested for the flu and tested pos. We were prescribed Tamaflu and so were the 3 other children who did not have the flu as well as myself and my husband. That was a thurs. On Sat my oldest who is HFA began acting very different and tantruming . It increased as the the days went on. On Tues she had a complete brake. She wanted to die attacked me. Tried to run out in front of a car and on the way to the ER tried to jump out of the car on the highway. This is very unlike her. She has been on zoloft for almost 2 years and this was my only concern as I was unaware of the warning of psychiatric problems caused by Tamaflu till yesterday. She had to be admitted to tuckers she became mute. Did not eat for 2 days. Her meds were taken away and changed causing even more problems. No doctors or the hospital knew about the warnings of Tamaflu till today when they received the FDA email. I have filed a report with the FDA and they informed me that my report sounds all too familiar. So please be aware of the risks of this drug. Now no one else in the house came down with the flu so it might work well in that aspect. But at what cost( too high in my opinion) Also my husband who is AS suffered but on a milder degree thankfully. So research it and read all every word of those papers you get from the pharmacy so you know what to look for and don't risk missing a thing. I do not mean to scare just share. My girl has started her regular meds back and is beginning to return to me.I am pleased to report, But we have had to start family counseling to help the younger kids recover from the fear of seeing her the way she was etc. Thanks Just a mom to all of you parents,Kian __.
