Guest guest
Hi to All and I hope your pain is lessening. Yesterday, My DR. told me that I was " like Elaine on Seinfeld " . (Remember the episode where she glanced at her medical chart, set off a Pandora's Box and then was ostrasized by the other doctors?) Some DRs are honest enough to admit that we do get " characterized " ...particularly when we have gone from one Derm to another, with empty promises and multiple disappointments. Doctors tell me I must be frustrated. Wish I had a dollar for everytime I heard that word...I could fund EN research singlehandedly were that the case. I think the frustrated ones are the doctors themselves. We knock them off their pedestals, without intent. Has anyone here run to a DR begging for a miracle cure? I doubt it. Dollars to donuts, (and I'm not a betting kinda gal) my guess is that when most of us noticed a skin change of any form we sought treatment. This is sane and rational. The reaction from both DRs and Nurses in viewing this is distrubing...we are NOT contagious! Why are we being swept under the rug? There is an underlying cause for EN. What is the underlying cause for caregiver apathy? We should examine stimulus/response in the medical community. Maybe we should start here, " at the very beginning, a very good place to start " . If these words were good enough for Rodgers and Hammerstein, (Do-Re-Mi/The Sound of Music), they are good enough for me. Good diagnosticians should be acting like detectives, not puppets. To all a good day. Love, aka imapisawork xxx ooo and a bunch of :)s
