Dear Members,

Happy New Year to you all! The New York State Chapter of the ADTA wants to let you know that we are starting the year off with a bang with some exciting news and events.

Our Gala Dance Concert and Reception was a huge success. The show was sold out and presented nine works by New York dance therapists!!! The Gala raised over $3000 , which is money that will be used towards chapter programming and PR including the promotional DVD Moving Stories, Portraits of Dance/Movement Therapy. Joan Wittig, Suzi Tortora, Ted Ehrhardt, and Nana Koch were Gala honorees for their hard work and dedication on Moving Stories. We thank everyone for their support in making this event a great one!

We also have some fantastic news! Time Out NY is doing an article on different kinds of therapy and has decided to focus on dance therapy, art therapy, drama therapy, music therapy, and a few others. Our own chapter PR chair, Clausen, was interviewed for the article which will be published in the January 24th issue! In addition, we will be having an informational session as a follow-up to the article on Friday 1/25/08 at Moving Body Resources, 112 W. 27th, buzzer #402 (between 6th and 7th Avenues) from 6-8pm. All are welcome! Please make every effort to attend!

We are planning an exciting year full of workshops and events! Please keep a look-out for our updates and emails for further information. For questions or comments please check our website www.nysadta.org or email jenniferdaniel.dtr@...
