Guest guest
Hello Pat, I was so glad to see your note although I missed your presentation. I am not familiar with the method of coding or call-in. Congrats on your involvement! Pat Slack RE: OASAS LCAT as QHP' answer Sorry for this late posting but I am presenting a powerpoint on art therapy and addictions for the OASAS Addiction treatment centers tomorrow 1/9/08 at 1-2:30pm. The web id code is 40884. the call in line is . Pat Quinn LCAT, ATR-BC, CASAC From: NYCCAT [mailto:NYCCAT ] On Behalf Of Barbara Sent: Monday, January 07, 2008 12:08 PMTo: NADT; NYCCATlistserve; NYU; tristatechapter Subject: OASAS LCAT as QHP' answer Dear colleagues that's the answer I got from the Offic of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (OASAS) when I asked why we are not yet recognized as QHP's. Dear Ms. -Berger, I have consulted within the agency for an answer to your question. First, I would like to point out that you are a QHP by virtue of your CASAC. Second, we are not currently revising our definitions however, when we begin that process the section on QHP’s will be considered for revision. In the interim, we have a waiver process and we have considered waiving the LCAT into the QHP category when a provider has solidly incorporated a recreational arts program into their curriculum and the LCAT working within that program should be considered a QHP for staffing purposes. This is done on a case by case basis upon application for a waiver by the provider. I hope this answers your question, and please don’t hesitate to contact me if you wish to have a conversation about this issue. Guest guest
Thanks Pat. I am being offered a web address where anyone can download the powerpoint that I will send along. It was pretty successful in helping work and OASAS people appreciate art therapy.
