Since EN IS NOT BEING ACTIVELY RESEARCHED, please take this opportunity to make a generous donation to our "EN Research Fund" to find a cure for this painful disorder.http://www.geocities.com/erythema_nodosum/donate/index.htm Also, please visit our new Erythema Nodosum Websitehttp://www.geocities.com/erythema_nodosum/ We intend to make it the best EN website on the net.Seems that quite a few of us have had chronic EN for decades including me. We desperately need to fund our own research! Welcome to our Friendly Erythema Nodosum Group!Love,Chronic Idiopathic EN since 1968********** 's Case History7/1/081. Your name and age: , 39 (will be 40 next week) 2. Your location Arlington, TX 3. Your email address: lissajane68@... 4. Your Yahoo ID lissajane68 5. Describe your erythema nodosum/PG symptoms or, if you do not have EN or PG, please explain why you wish to join this group. I have multiple nodules in both legs and extremely painful joints (knees and elbows). I also get nodules sometimes on my arms and stomach as well. When in full flare mode, I also run low grade to high fevers. 6. List any other health conditions. I also have asthma, allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (lung disease), and cellulitis 7. State what medications or treatments you take for EN, and their effectiveness: I am currently on a 14-day round of iv Zosyn, oral clindamycin, and tramadol for pain. The antibiotics have helped more with the cellulitis and redness than they have with the EN. The tramadol helps some with the pain, but not much. I was just recently diagnosed as having EN through a biopsy of a nodule on my legs, but looking back realized that I have had this before. It has never been this painful before nor lasted quite this long (this bout has been ongoing since February, with symptoms worsening towards the end of May). When I have needed meds in the past, a short round (10-day) of prednisone usually did the trick. This time, as soon as I would finish a round of antibiotics or prednisone, it would come back within 3 days. 8. When did you first get erythema nodosum or PG? I was just recently diagnosed through a biopsy. However, looking back in retrospect, I probably first got it about 15 years ago but they didn't have a clue what it was, nor do I remember what triggered it. 9. How long have you had erythema nodosum or PG? approximately 15 + years10. Do you agree to treat all EN members with respect? yes11.Do you agree to post NO advertisements for any products or services? definitely!12. How did you find this Group? (Google, Yahoo, Ask Jeeves Search, referral from another group or person etc.) Through a Google search on erythema nodosum.
