Guest guest
I hope this is a safe link. I do not know the web site. The original study needs finding and appraising, but nevertheless I am nervous about the assumptions drawn from the data, very NT stuff. http://www.findingdulcinea.com/news/health/May-June-08/Study-Links-Children-s-Au\ tism-to-Parents--Mental-Health.html#3 As it happens, yes my mother was like that. However, assuming a genetic connection with Autism is very dodgy because I can immediately see other possible connections. For example, the father has Autistic traits and that led to the couple creating a child. Making that clearer something about the father and mother led to attraction. This can be fact without the mother carrying any genes to do with Autism. Perhaps this is idea too subtle to get across easily. That could be followed in research and yet it proves nothing even if a gene was found. Also a subtle point. It is hard to prove anything. What the study does is add content to something-about-the-mother and in the context of Aspires suggests those females present are not aligned with a statistically normal population. (please, no-one get on a high horse, I am not saying you personally are anything but the tendency may be higher that an individual is)
