Dear Jen,On behalf of all our members, welcome to our Erythema Nodosum Group! Thanks for sending in your Questionnaire. I have added your information to our "Member Medical History" Files on the Group site and posted it below. You now have Full EN Group privileges. You are receiving ALL EN Group emails, and you may also visit the Erythema Nodosum Group Site:http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/erythema_nodosum_Group/ whenever you like by logging on with your Yahoo ID and secret password. You do not have to have the group emails delivered to be a member here. Let me know if you want the emails to stop.I hope you will remain a member here to support others even after you go into remission. Since EN IS NOT BEING ACTIVELY RESEARCHED, please take this opportunity to make a generous donation to our "EN Research Fund" to find a cure for this painful disorder.http://www.geocities.com/erythema_nodosum/donate/index.htm Also, please visit our new Erythema Nodosum Websitehttp://www.geocities.com/erythema_nodosum/ We intend to make it the best EN website on the net.It always concerns me when an older member is diagnosed as idiopathic as there are so many more serious triggers that can occur with age. However, a basic work up should rule out the majority of these triggers. Welcome to our Friendly Erythema Nodosum Group!Love,Chronic Idiopathic EN since 1968********* Storms' Case History3/15/081. Your name and age: Storms 2. Your location: Newport, Oregon3. Your email address: Jstorms12@...4. Your Yahoo ID: Jstorms125. Describe your erythema nodosum/PG symptoms or, if you do not have EN or PG, please explain why you wish to join this group. It began with two hard 'lumps' on my left calf. Within just over 4 weeks, there were many of them on both calves and have moved up to the back side of both thighs. They were discolored, warm to the touch, very painful. My legs and ankles are swollen and I find it difficult to walk when I first start to move about.6. List any other health conditions. Blood pressure problems. From stroke range to ultra low blood pressure. (70 over 40 being my worst to date) In my early 20's (I am now 51) they found that my monocytes and neutrophils (hope I am spelling these correctly!) did not respond properly which has caused me to loose much of the bone in my mouth that supports my teeth. This continues even today. I was a research subject at the University of Washington for a period of time. They told me that it was just a fluke of nature. No other cause. I did, until I became pregnant with my daughter in my early 30's, also suffer from low grade fevers on a daily basis as a result.7. State what medications or treatments you take for EN, and their effectiveness:My doctor put me on Prednisone 20 mg yesterday when I saw her. I will have to let you know if it works or not. My concern is that she (my doctor) did not try to find an underlying cause. What if it isn't related to my "bad" blood? From what I have read, it sounds like it could be a symptom of quite a number of things being wrong. 8. When did you first get erythema nodosum or PG?About four and a half weeks ago is when it began.9. How long have you had erythema nodosum or PG?About 4 and a half weeks.10. Do you agree to treat all EN members with respect?Of course.11.Do you agree to post NO advertisements for any products or services?Yes.12. How did you find this Group? (Google, Yahoo, Ask Jeeves Search, referral from another group or person etc.)I found you in a comment from someone on another web site. I believe it was the 'misdiagnosed' site. Thanks for considering me, .Jen
