Guest guest
Hello Fellow CATs I would like to propose something to help those like me who are unable to attend meetings. Would it be possible to set up a Skype so that members could attend via a Skypecast? Attendees would only need to download the program (for free) and someone at the meeting would have a webcam set up. Up to 100 additional people could be virtually attending the meetings and the cost (I believe) would be free excluding the webcam. www.Skype.com Any thoughts on this? Guest guest
Great idea but I do have some questions. This would require a computer with a camera, am I correct? Or would it be simply watching the meeting over the webcam? Guest guest
No, there are programs online such as GoToMeeting.com and TalkShoe.com that allow you to log into a private "room" and listen to the entire meeting on your computer. There's also an option to phone in, so you can ask questions. Just a computer is required. I go to several weekly meetings using these services and it's fantastic! No membership fee on attendees part is required, but do need to log-in. Don't know how much it might cost an organization to utilize services...
