Dear Lorine, I have been taking Prilosec OTC ever since I first had EN because I take Prednisone and it causes severe heartburn and GERD. If I quit taking Prilosec I would get severe heart burn again. In fact, I tried the generic brand and it did nothing. Occasionally I still get GERD which I find to be very scary as it can affect the lungs. If you know of another med to take instead of Prilosec please let me know. I hate to wine but I also recently have had some bouts with TMJ. Their might be a connection between TMJ and Prednisone from what I have learned. Thank you for bringing this subject up for discussion. Take care and be well....Lou ANYONE TAKING PRILOSEC OR NEXIUMHi after reading a article posted by another member, about the derm in Texas linking omerprazole (prillosec) with En. Which I have been on for 10 years I was wondering if anyone else in the group takes either of these meds for GERD ( acid reflux). After reading this article I have decided to try to go off this

medication and try something else to see if it helps my symptoms. Which if it turns out to be the cause and my En clears up would be wonderful.I have spoken to a Lawyer and he said if this does appear to be the cause I could have a law suit against Astra Zeneca. If anyone else is taking these meds please let me know.I do know that long term use of these meds cause gastritis which is inflamation in the lining of the stomach(which I also have) so it would make sense that it could cause inflamation in other parts of the body.
