okay... allow me to clarify....

obviously, there are exceptions. i don't know in every case which

doc knows what. obviously some idd's know pg, some not. we all know

some derms know about pg, many do not, or may know but aren't very

capable of treating it. i guess one of my points is, who's

responsibility is it? should a derm know pg and be able to treat?

yes. infectious dieseases? has no business touching it. pg has

absolutely nothing to do with infectious diseases. this is the point

i was making.

true story:

at one point in the hospital, my gp was bound and determined to

surgerically scalp (heavy debide) my pg. i told him NO WAY!! i was

already being treated out patient at u of m and i already knew about

pathergy. he, obviously, did not. so my gp said, " alright, i will

call in an infectious disease doc to consult " . oh geezz, okay, FINE!

(remember what i said before about this? docs are taught infection,

infection infection!). this doc came in, and he is a good one, has

good reputation around town, looked at it as i explained the nature

of pg and my trips to u of m and so forth. he didn't say much and

left. the next day he came in with copies of web pages on pg and

began explaining all that he had learned about pg (which, i kept my

mouth closed, but i had already explained all of that the day

before...lol). so he said, " well, nothing i can do to help you.

i'll file my report with your gp and he can take it from there. "

(hee, hee, smart man, i was getting ready to do battle again!)

and again, this is why i say, you have to be your own best advocate.

if you aren't able to, get someone to help you do this. if i hadn't

known about pg like i did, i would have been sliced and diced and

treated for ... God only knows what.

hope this clears up why i made the statements i did.

jeff,

pg,

cd

specialist, who also studied immune disorders. He was retired but saw

me as a favor. I'm sure he got in the same room with me.

have no pain there. Should i alert some doc about this?
