Guest guest
To all who have commented or emailed me and to even those who have not: Thank you for your insights and kindness. Apart from the pain of EN, the social isolation has become overwhelming. My so-called friends are history, as they think I am contagious. I have had strangers in stores say the most outrageous things to me. Have people lost all sense of decorum? Or is this just endemic to New Jersey? I'm a native New Yorker, sometimes I feel like a panda bear out of its natural environment. I never would dream of asking a person " what is that deformity on your leg? " I was raised with respect and I hope my words reflect that. One final note: I was shopping at Kohl's and a lady(shopper) saw my legs. Without hesitation, she declared, " BOY, YOU ARE A REAL MESS. " Without hesitation I responded, " AND STILL I LOOK BETTER THAN YOU!!! " Love and to all, Many thanks for your kind words, PS: I was reminded of the scene in " The Elephant Man " where cried out, " I am not an animal! " We are all beautiful- lumps and all. STAY PAIN FREE!!! xxx ooo xxx ooo
Guest guest
I'm an X NYer, and your description made me remember the crassness of the masses there. I have lived in Southern Ca since 1972. It's a different world. More accepting. I wear my support stocking with shorts and people offer me a seat. I never felt like I fit in with NYers, although I love their honesty, many of them have little tact. I'm glad you had the perfect snappy comeback. I would usually think of something good to say later, MUCH later. Love, Idio. EN '
