Guest guest
Dear Fellow CATs, I have a student in my class (college) who is very interested in Art Therapy and would like to do volunteer "work" in an environment where she can see the type of work we do, how we do it, etc. Can anyone give me any leads on that front that I could share with my student? Guest guest
Hi a, This student of yours might get lucky off this list serve but she could also be resourceful and contact all facilities that provide art thereapy. Hospitals, Rehab Centers, Drug and Alcohol programs often have volunteer coordinators who will talk with her and try to set something in motion. Of course she will specify her interest in Art Therapy and her desire to work with that staff person/s. Art therapy nternship coordinators will have lots of contacts for her. Becasue of insurance issues dealing with Volunteer Coordinator may be most useful. It helps if someone can make a recommendation.
