Description: These three workshops will be given for Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselors, Psychotherapists, Creative Arts Therapists, and Child Life Specialists who want to practice therapy for those children and adolescents who have been exposed to maltreatment. These workshops are intended for therapists already working with children and adolescents who want to understand and practice this specific and integrated model of therapy for anxiety related disorders. In these workshops, current research from Attachment Theory, Trauma and Resilience studies will be briefly reviewed as this research relates to the treatment of anxiety. Specific assessment issues will be discussed. Workshop participants will also experience guided practice using this specific model of child therapy during these workshops. Case studies with children will also be provided in this didactic and experiential workshop. Biography: II Ph.D., RDT, is a licensed clinical and forensic psychologist and drama therapist in New York and New Jersey. Dr completed his predoctoral internship in clinical psychology at the Yale Psychiatric Institute, Women?s Trauma Program, and The Post Traumatic Stress Center in New Haven, Connecticut. His postdoctoral internship in child forensic psychology was completed at the Audrey Hepburn Children?s House, Northern Regional Diagnostic Center for Child Abuse and Neglect at the Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, New Jersey. In addition, Dr. completed post-graduate training at the Institute for Developmental Transformations where he also served as training director for the six years in San Francisco and Manhattan. Before completion of his doctorate in psychology, for ten years, Dr. served as the Supervisor for the Creative Arts Therapies at the National Center for Posttraumatic Stress, Neurosciences Division, Yale University Clinical Campus located at the Veteran?s Administration Medical Center in West Haven, Connecticut where he provided drama therapy for combat veterans. He directed the Home Front Veteran?s Theater Company creating and touring original theater works with Vietnam veteran actors in the New Haven area. In addition, Dr. has published several articles on the use of Developmental Transformations in the treatment of trauma related anxiety and has clinically supervised many students from the Drama Therapy Program at New York University. He has served as adjunct faculty at the California Institute for Integral Studies Drama Therapy Program in San Francisco, California. He has taught adolescent psychology as adjunct professor at Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey and currently teaches courses in leadership, conflict resolution, and group dynamics at the Lesley University Extension Campus located in Natanya, Israel. He has served on the board of directors for the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children New Jersey Chapter and is currently a member of the American Psychological Association and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Dr. conducts private practice in psychology in Manhattan and is also a partner at Special Psychological Services LLC in New Jersey where he provides forensic evaluation and expert witness testimony for issues of child maltreatment.
